How to email a dynamic download link to your sales leads or customers when they fill out a form

October 23rd, 2012 by Richard Felix

Today I saw a tweet from an internet friend of mine who has a Wufoo form and wants to send a PDF to people who fill out a form. Wait, no… That’s not quite it. That would be easy to do. You’d just set up an auto-responder that replied to the email address of the person who filled out the form, with an email that contained the link.

What he actually wants to do is send a different PDF to them based on the option that they select in a dropdown on the form. All of a sudden it’s not so easy, unless you use Dispatch.

With Dispatch, you could send your form notifications to your Dispatch email address (all of your incoming notifications would be forwarded to your existing email address as well as processed by Dispatch).

Then, you’d make a few Actions that looked a little something like this, one for each PDF that you want to send.

Basically, this would look at the notification you get from Wufoo, search the body of the message to see if they selected the option that matches that PDF, and then send them an email from your company, from your email address, with a link to the corresponding PDF. Killer.

You can do all of this and more right now. Get Dispatch.
